10 Quotes To Remind You Of The Woman You Really Are
Susil C. Acharyya Born in Bengal, India, the author was schooled mostly in Calcutta. He graduated in electrical engineering from Jadavpur University in Calcutta. He won merit scholarships throughout his academic career. He went to Bombay Tata Hydro as a special trainee, selected by the government of India.
After the training, he won the Parkinson Commonwealth Bursary, one such scholarship being awarded each year by an all-India competition to go to England for special technical training. After completing the terms of Bursary, he proceeded to do research, financed by the engineering department, to complete his PhD doctorate degree from Manchester University in electrical engineering.
In England, he continued reading novels written by various writers. He developed a desire to write fiction. Shortly after, a company brought him from England to Montreal on contract. During this period, he published technical papers in journals and traveled coast to coast in Canada. He settled down with his young family in Montreal and worked in large corporations like RCA, satellite division, moved to Mississauga, worked in AECL, Nortel, and won a number of awards while working in two private companies.
He then worked on contracts in a consulting company. Once his two daughters finished university studies, this author retired from working.
He started to write an international Indo-Canadian story. His mental disciplines developed by publishing technical articles, his knowledge of people, countries, styles, and how stories are told in novels provided him with the confidence to write this story.
He struggled for months to start the story. Finally, he wrote the handwritten full story. He read the draft after a few weeks and found it exciting. While putting it on the computer, he expanded the story and finally produced this story, A Man of Two Countries, as told in this book. A Man of Two Countries. About the Book Dipak read to father and his wife Karabi, the Calcutta morning newspaper, which said: Third day after the classic fight at Listowel, Canada, Dr.
Sanat Roy was on his deathbed after the fight. Helen was also injured badly. There is no trace of them in the local hospital. Nobody knows if Dr. Roy is dead or alive. This Indo-Canadian is a brilliant, strange man. People last heard about him nearly two years ago when he suddenly left the company he built to a large, most successful technology company in North America.
Since then, he totally vanished from the public eye. It is now confirmed that Dr. Roy is the famous best-selling novelist Loner, the pen name he used. He also established, expanded, and supported alone an ashram in Delhi for young, helpless girls to stand on their own feet. He also supported two orphanages in Calcutta. He donated large sums of money to medical research in Canadian hospitals. People are surprised how this man, without any work, was getting over a million dollars for philanthropy alone.
People are puzzled that a devoted family man like Dr. Roy was with Helen, an unknown, white Canadian woman at the time of the fight instead of his own Indian wife. This Indo-Canadian laid down his life to protect Helen from being gang-raped by the motorcycle gang without considering his own Indian family. Reporters are vigorously investigating the private life of this talented, enigmatic Indian from a Calcutta affluent family.
Dipak put the paper down and closed his eyes. Father went quietly to his room. Karabi, wiping her tearful eyes with her saree, went to her bedroom. Dipak pondered, I may not see my beloved Dada elder brother again. Everybody loves him so deeply. Sanat Roy, who made people love him even with all his faults.
